    OBITUARY

    AMHERST - Mrs. Frank G. ALLEN, 39, of 3 Central Ave., Amherst, died at Highland View Hospital Thursday morning following a lengthy illness. She was seriously ill for the past few months. She was the former Norma Mae Chappell, daughter of W. Blair Chappell and the late Mrs. Chappell of Truemanville. She was born in Truemanville, but lived in Amherst for the past 20 years. She was predeceased by her mother in 1951. Besides her husband she is survied by one daughter, Marie (Mrs. Perley McFadden, Jr.) of Amherst; one son, Albert Allen, at home; her father, W. Blair Chappell of Truemanville; two sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl Trueman) of Truemanville; Ruby (Mrs. Raymond Brown) of Athol; one brother, Layton Chappell of London, Ont.; three nieces and one nephew. Her body is at Furlongs Funeral Home. Funeral service will be from the funeral home Saturday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. E. Theo Crozier. The committal service will be at Highland Cemetery receiving vault with burial in the spring.

    OBITUARY

    AMHERST - W. Blair CHAPPELL, 85, formerly of Truemanville, Cumberland County, retired farmer, died Wednesday in Lockhart's Nursing Home, Amherst. Born at Head of Amherst, he was a son of the late Willis O. and Mary Ann (Wood) Chappell. Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl Trueman), Truemanville; Ruby (Mrs. Raymond Brown), Athol; a son, Layton, London, Ont.; two sisters, Leona (Mrs. Robert Crossman) Tidnish; Alice (Mrs. Warren Black), Springhill; three brothers, Raymond and Rex K., both of Amherst; Lawrence, Brookdale; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, his wife, the former Vera Oulton of Lorneville; a daughter, Norma (Mrs. Frank Allen), and a son, Albert, predeceased him. The body is at Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst, where funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m., Rev. Russell Harding officiating. Committal service will be in Highland cemetery receiving chapel. Interment will be in Truemanville in the spring.

    OBITUARY

    The death of Vera Mildred, wife of Blair CHAPPELL of Truemanville, occurred suddenly at Highland View Hospital early Tuesday evening. The deceased had not been in good health for the past three years, and underwent an operation a few weeks ago from which she was recovering. She was 48 years of age, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oulton of Lorneville. She was a practical nurse and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was called upon. She was a member of the United Church and secretary of the Ladies Aid Society. She will be much missed by her family and friends. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl Trueman) of Truemanville, Norma (Mrs. Frank Allen) of Amherst, Ruby (Mrs. Raymond Brown) of Athol, one son, Layton of Truemanville, one sister, Mrs. Alex Beaton of Lorneville and one brother, Manford Oulton of Amherst, and three grandchildren. A brother Edgar predeceased her two years ago. The remains will rest at Furlong's Funeral Home until Thursday afternoon at which time they will be taken to the home at Truemanville from which place the funeral service, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

    The funeral of the late Charles Edward Oulton, who passed away at Tidnish, was held Sunday afternoon from the Lorneville United Church.  Rev. A. Moore of Baie Verte had charge of the service assisted by Rev. J. Douglas of Northport.  The hymns sung by the Lorneville choir were "The Old Rugged Cross", by special request:  "Lead Kindly Light" and "In the Garden".  Mrs. Charles Stewart was organist.  There were many floral tributes.  Interment was made in the Lorneville cemetery.  The pallbearers were five grandsons and a nephew, Ross and Russell Beaton, Guy and Donald Oulton, Darrell Oulton and Carmen Chapman.  The late Mr. Oulton is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alex Beaton of Lorneville and Mrs. Blair Chappell of Truemanville, and two sons, Manford of Amherst and Edgar of Tidnish with whom he resided; one sister, Mrs. Burton Cloney of Edmonton, Alta., and one brother, Ellsworth of Framingham, Mass., eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  His wife and one son predeceased him thirty-seven years ago.
