    Strang, Laurie Garnet - 80, 66 Hickman St., Amherst, died Sunday, December 9, 2001, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Merrill and Charlotte Lottie (Noiles) Strang. He is survived by his wife, the former Isabel Goodwin; daughter, Carolyn Brown (Mike), Amherst; sons, Garnet (Marie), Prince George, B.C.; Leslie (Ruth), Amherst; sister, Elaine Dickie, White Rock, B.C.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst, Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Burial will be in Amherst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association.

    Mr. Merrill V. Strang
    Amherst, Nov. 15 - The largely attended funeral of the late Merrill V. Strang, son of the late Calvin G. and Annie T. Strang, was held on Saturday afternoon from the United Church, Tidnish Bridge, N.B. Mr. Strang was born in Tidnish 44 years ago, his father being a prominent business man there. His sudden passing came as a severe shock to his relatives and many friends. Rev. Aubrey Moore, of Port Elgin, minister of the church, officiated and spoke very impressively from the 14th Chapter of John. The Choir sang, "In The Garden" and "Safe In the Arms of Jesus." The deceased is survived by a wife, son and daughter and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur MacCallum of Amherst and Mrs. T.H. Lambert of Saint John, N.B. The floral tributes from friends and relatives were many and beautiful and included a wreath from the firm of J.A. and W.A. Tingley. The pallbearers were Gordon MacCallum, Arthur MacCallum, Jr., Richard Strang, Eddie Davidson, Edgar Oulton and Willard Weaver.     CHARLOTTE IDA STRANG
    AMHERST - Charlotte Ida (Lottie) Strang, 85, of 68 Hickman Street, Amherst, died Thursday, February 6, 1986. Born in Nappan, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Cora (Bacon) Noiles. She reside most of her life in Amherst, where received her elementary and high school education. She received her business education at Mount Allison University. In her later years she worked for Cumberland Equipment Ltd., retiring about 20 years. She was a member of Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 36. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Dickie, Point Roberts, Wash.; a son, Laurie, Amherst; a brother, Merton, Toronto; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Merrill; two brothers, Leslie and Burpee.

    A large circle of friends throughout Cumberland will regret to learn of the death of C.G. STRANG, the well known merchant of Tidnish Bridge. Mr. Strang has been a sufferer from Bright's disease for some time but no immediate danger was anticipated with regard to his condition and he was about attending to his business as usual until last Saturday when he took to his bed. He passed away last evening and the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock. The deceased is survived by his wife and one son, and two daughters. The late Mr. Strang at the time of his death was in the fifty fourth year of his age. He was a moderate Conservative in politics and a member of the Methodist Church. The deceased was highly respected by all who knew him and his death will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends.
