At Perrin’s Clinton View Lodge, Clinton on Monday May 5th , 2008 of Kenneth A. Owen formerly of Walker Dr., Kensington, aged 91 years. Son of the late Burleigh B. and Hazel (Compton) Owen. Loving husband of 68 years to Mary K. (Stewart) Owen and Dear father of Blaine (Edith) Owen, all of Kensington. Brother-in-law of Jean MacKenzie, Enid Stewart, Luella Bryanton-Owen, Jennie Gallo and Marjorie Stewart. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Lorne, Ralph (Jean), Mont (Jean) Owen and sister Charlene Howatt. Father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Selina (Woodside) Stewart and the following brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jack MacKenzie, Bruce, Earl, Gerald, Mott (Ida) Stewart and Doris (Stewart) Jenkins.

Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Malpeque. If so desired contributions may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or Perrin’s Clinton View Lodge Equipment Fund.

Obituary

On Monday, March 24th, the angel of Death entered the district of Malpeque, and claimed for its victim Mr. Arthur Owen, aged 78. He had been in failing health for some months, but death came suddenly at the last. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Malpeque, and was a man of exemplary character and sterling worth. He was a model husband and father and was ever ready to help a neighbor and assist in all charitable need.
He leaves to mourn several brothers and sisters and a sorrowing widow, formerly Miss Barbara Montgomery; also the following children: Miss Minnie, of Roxbury; Miss Margaret of Syracuse, N.Y.; Mrs. Byron Stuart, of Hamilton; Robert Montgomery, Manager of the Royal Bank, Petitcodiac, N.B.; Pte Claude who is at present in England; Miss Clara, Benjamin and Burleigh at home. The funeral service, one of the largest in years, was conducted by the Rev. J. N. Murchison. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Malpeque.

Obituary

The Angel of Death entered the home of Mr. Burleigh Owen, Malpeque, on March 4th and took for its own the Mother, Mrs. Barbara Owen, in her 58th year. Deceased had been ill just three days, with that ravaging disease the “flu.” All that tender nursing and medical skill could do, was done, but of no avail. She had always been a sufferer from bronchial trouble and asthma and there seemed no hope, when the disease started. Mrs. Owen was a devoted Christian wife and mother, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. The funeral service was held on Friday March 9th, the Rev. J. M. Murchison, officiating.
She leaves to mourn her loss, Miss Minnie of Brooklyn, Mass., Miss Maggie, of Syracuse, N.Y., who were summoned home in their mother’s illness; Montgomery Owen, Manager of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Toronto, who arrived home on Wednesday; Benjamin, of Charlottetown; Claude and Burleigh of Malpeque; Mrs. Bryon Stewart of Hamilton; also Miss Clara at home. Interment took place in Princetown Cemetery beside her husband who predeceased her three years ago.
