Harold A. Wood
(November 9, 1927 - June 16, 2008)

Wood, Harold A. - 80, Oxford, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Lake Killarney, he was a son of the late John and Annie (Smith) Wood. Harold owned and operated his own farm. He was a past employee of Gordon’s Greenhouses and Bragg Lumber Company. Harold was a member and former deacon of the Oxford Baptist Church. He was also a former director of the Cumberland County Exhibition. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Audrey; sons, Grant (Cathy), Montreal; Milton (Anne), Oxford; daughter, Patty (Tan) Davis, Dutch Settlement; grandchildren, Rachel, Caitlin and Sarah Wood; Matthew and Harold Davis; Abigail and Lucas Wood; sisters, Helen Houston, Mississauga, Ont.; Dorothy Snowdon, Sackville, N.B.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Hazel Trueman and Wilna Furlong; brother, Lorne. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, with funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, both in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930).
