    TRENHOLM, DANA GORDON - 1934 - 2014 - Port Elgin, N.B.- It is with sadness, but peace of heart, that the family of Dana Gordon Trenholm, announce his passing at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, N.B. on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Born on January 16, 1934 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Lionel and Daisy (Burns) Trenholm. Dana attended school in Cape Spear and Port Elgin, NB and was a graduate of Mount Allison University. Dana was employed with the Federal Government until his retirement. Dana will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean (Allen) Trenholm of Burlington, Ontario; four children, Michael (Mary Lee) of Ottawa, Ontario, Mark (Bernadette) of Moncton, N.B., Jennifer (Cheryl) of Hamilton, Ontario and Joyce of Burlington, Ontario; seven grandchildren, Richard and David of Ottawa, Jordan, Rebekah, Michael and Rachel of Moncton and Claire Jean of Hamilton; three brothers, Donald (Duddy) Trenholm of Cape Spear, N.B., Keith Trenholm, of Saint John, NB and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm of Brookdale, N.S; three sisters, Joan (Ray) Pauley of Bayside, N.B., Ouida Duguay of Shemogue, N.B. and Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny of Port Elgin, N.B. and by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Vaughn in 1990; brother-in-law, Abel Duguay and sister-in-law, Patricia Trenholm.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). A time of visitation will take place at the Bayfield United Church on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 2 to 3 pm. The funeral service will take place at 3 pm, immediately following the visitation, with Wayne Jarvis, DLM officiating. A private burial for family will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dana may be made to the Westford Nursing Home or to the charity of one’s choice. www.campbellsfuneralhome.com

    Lionel Tuttle Trenholm

    January 12, 1907- January 22, 2007

    PORT ELGIN, N.B.- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lionel Trenholm, age 100, of Cape Spear, N.B., on Monday, January 22, 2007 at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, N.B.

    Born on January 12, 1907 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Thomas E.P.R.M. and Eliza A. (Priest) Trenholm.

    Lionel was educated at Cape Spear School and lived there for 99 plus years. He worked as a fisherman, a lobster purchaser (smacker) and worked many winters in the lumber camps and mills of N.S. Lionel was an avid sport hunter and fisherman until recent years.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife of 78 years, Daisy Burns of Port Elgin, N.B.; three daughters, Ouida Duguay of Shemogue, N.B., Joan (Ray) Pauley of Bayside, N.B. and Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny of Port Elgin, N.B.; four sons, Donald Trenholm of Cape Spear, N.B., Dana Trenholm of Port Elgin, N.B. and his wife Jean of Ontario, Keith (Beatrice) Trenholm of St. John, N.B. and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm of Amherst, N.S.; sister Norma Ferguson of Cape Tormentine; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by his son Vaughn; daughter-in-law Patricia A. (Donald) Trenholm; son-in-law Abel (Ouida) Duguay and four brothers, Courtney, Jessie, Burnett and Gordon.

    Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Trenholm home, #34 Cape Spear Road, Cape Spear, N.B.. The funeral service will take place at the Cape Tormentine United Church, on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 2 PM with Rev. Bill Drysdale officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the Bayfield Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lionel may be made to the Westford Nursing Home or to the charity of ones choice.

    TRENHOLM, DAISY CHLOE (BURNS) - AUGUST 19, 1909 - AUGUST 17, 2009 - It is with great sadness that the family of Daisy C. (Burns) Trenholm, of Cape Spear, N.B., announce her passing at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, N.B. on Monday, August 17, 2009. Daisy was 99 years of age. Born on August 19, 1909 in Cape Tormentine, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Vaughan and Elizabeth Ann (Oulton) Burns. Daisy lived all her life in Cape Spear, N.B. and was an upstanding person in her community. She played piano as well as the organ for the Cape Spear Church. Daisy was always up for a game of cards and enjoyed bingo in earlier days. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. Daisy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. Daisy will be sadly missed by her children, Donald (Duddy) Trenholm of Cape Spear, NB, Dana Trenholm of Port Elgin, NB and his wife Jean of Ontario, Joan (Ray) Pauley of Bayside, NB, Ouida Duguay of Petit Cap, NB, Keith Trenholm of Saint John, NB, Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny of Port Elgin, NB and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm of Brookdale, NS; sister, Mary Field of Port Elgin, NB; sister-in-law, Norma Ferguson of Cape Tormentine, NB and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
