    STRANG, ALLEN EDWIN The death of Allen Strang of Fredericton, NB occurred Tuesday, October 10th, 2006 at the Veteran's Health Unit. Born on July 17th, 1921 in Chatham, NB he was the son of the late Lemuel and Isabelle (Dickson) Strang and husband of Phyllis (Crowley) Strang of Fredericton. Allen served five full years with the Royal Canadian Artillery 5th Field Regiment from 1940-1945. He graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. He was employed at NB Power for 33 years having served as Chief Design Engineer, Manager of Utility Engineering and Chief Engineer until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, and a life member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geologists of New Brunswick. Allen's hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening and music. He had a love for the outdoors, but loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Survived by his wife, Phyllis (Crowley) of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Sharon Pond (Terry); son, Fred (Marlene), both of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Melissa Gaudet (Marc) of Bathurst, NB, Kristen Fisher (Steve), Michael Strang, Alison Strang, all of Fredericton, NB; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Steele (Mac), Kathryn Garriock (Robert). Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Purcel and James; sister, Lenore. Special thanks to the staff of the Veteran's Health Unit for their exemplary care and kindness shown to Allen and his family. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 from 7-9 pm. Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will conduct a tribute service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church (Parish) Church on Thursday, October 12th, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
