Obituary
The death of Walter Amos, age 88, of Little Shemogue, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville on Monday, December 8, 2003.
Born in Little Shemoge, he was a son of the late Horatio and Mary-Ann Wilson Amos. Walter was a farmer and fisherman all of his life. He was a member of the Port Elgin and Baie Verte Senior Citizens Clubs and a member of the First United Church Murray Corner.
Walter will be sadly missed by 4 sons, Earl ( Joyce) and Roger (Susan) of Moncton, Ernest (Marion) of Nanaimo BC, and Gordon (Helen) of Sackville, 2 daughters, Mary-Ann (Wayne) Jones of Victoria, BC and Barbara (Guy) Leger of Fredericton, 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jean in 1998 and by a brother Robert.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W Main St., Port Elgin, (364-1300) from where visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 2 pm, Rev. Margaret Outerbridge officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Drew Nursing Home, Chignecto Unit or a charity of the donor's choice.
