    Eileen Jackson age 95, of Amherst and formerly of Nappan where she resided for 32 years passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family.
    Born February 13, 1918 in Amherst Head, NS, Eileen was a daughter of the late Earl and Emily (Beharrell) Smith.
    Eileen grew up on a farm, where she developed a lifelong love of horses and enjoyed listening and playing old time music and was crowned the Queen of Dick’s Jamboree.
    She began her career at Letcher’s Hotel, Cumberland Hotel and later for George Chapman Electrical Plumbing and Heating.
    In her spare time she loved knitting and especially spending time with her family.
    She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Brenda White, Amherst, Judy (Bliss) Baker, Amherst, Jocelyn Jackson, Moncton, NB, Patsy (Garth) Gates, Truro, NS, Starr Jackson (Shaun), Amherst and Wanda Jackson, Moncton, NB; sons, Mayhue (Ruby) Grand Cache AB, Carmen (Jean),Amherst, Bruce (Cindy), Galatia, IL, Johnny (Diane), Amherst and Brian (Gwen), Fenwick; her special granddaughter, whom she raised, Jaime (Bryce) Payne, Amherst; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
    Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Henry; son, Sandford, and daughter, Gwendalyn Jackson; granddaughter, Amanda; grandson, George; and great grandson, Zachery.
    Cremation has taken place.
    A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Carolyn MacLeod officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will take place in the Head of Amherst Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, IWK or charity of your choice.
