    OBITUARY

    Octogenarian of Port Elgin Passed Away
    Mrs. David G. Field Died Recently at Home of Her Son in Hampton, Aged 81
    Years.

    Mrs. David G. Field, lat of Port Elgin, N.B., died at the home of her
    son, Ernest L. Field, at Hampton on Feb. 9. Mrs. Field was born at
    Upper Cape, Westmorland County, 81 years ago and was the daughter of the
    late Squire Ephraim Rayworth. Mrs. Field's husband died three years
    ago. She leaves two sons, Dr. Burton R., of Centreville, and Ernest L.,
    of Hampton; also one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Reid, of Port Elgin. The
    late Mrs. Field was of English descent, her father being the first
    English child born in the parish of Botsford, Westmorland county. The
    late Ephraim Rayworth's home was well known for its hospitality, many of
    the leading citizens of the Maritimes Provinces having been entertained
    there. Mrs. Field will be remembered by her friends as a lady of
    culture and admirable qualities. The remains were taken to Port Elgin
    for burial, accompanied by her two sons, Dr. Burton R. Field, of
    Centreville, and Ernest L. Field, of Hampton. The funeral was held on
    Monday from the residence of the deceased's daughter, Mrs. Ernest Reid,
    of Port Elgin. Service was conducted by Rev. A.W. Teed, of Mt. Whatley,
    assisted by Rev. Mr. Chapman. Interment was in Fernwood cemetery.
