    Obituary

GOODWIN, FRANK ABBOTT - 1925-2013 - The family of the late Frank Goodwin is sad to announce his passing at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, April 29, 2013 following a brief illness. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Harry and Hazel (Abbott) Goodwin. Frank spent most of his life in Ridgefield, Conn., where he graduated from high school and joined the Marine Corps, later serving his country in the Pacific until the war finished in 1945. Frank's working life was spent with Perkin-Elmer, a large multinational scientific equipment company. He capably served on boards and committees in both his church and in his community. Frank will be sadly missed by his children, Geoffrey Goodwin, Kathy Goodwin and Jonathan Goodwin (Debbie); his grandchildren, Brenda Fraiter (Thad), Janine Ward (Stacey) and Justin Truchsess (Lisa); his great grandchildren, Tradelle, Derek, Triston and Emma Ward and Kellan Truchsess; and by his brother, Alan (Jane), who continues to live in Charlottesville, VA. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife, Doris (Oulton) Goodwin, the mother of his three children. In 1993 Frank came to Canada to marry his sweetheart, Margaret "Peggy" Atkinson. Frank was a loving person; he reached out to not only his family, but to everyone he met. He was a giver, an encourager and a supporter. A cat lover, you could always find Frank tinkering in his yard, tending to his well kept flower beds and keeping the bird feeders well stocked. He enjoyed his family, his home, his yard and the roads he traveled on his "Frank and Peggy Adventures". Frank was a member of St. Philip's Anglican Church and the Riverview Veterans Organization.
In keeping with Frank's wishes, there will be no visitation hours. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:00 am, Rev. Rod Black officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Frank's memory, donations to St. Philip's Anglican Church or Harvest House would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.fergusonknowlesfh.com
