Obituary
Hon. A.A. DAVIDSON, Q.C. died about 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon Nov. 13th, age 71. Mr. Davidson studied with the late John Ambrose STREET and was called to the Bar in 1840, created a Q.C. in 1875. He was strongly opposed to Confederation. He offered for the Local Legislature in 1870 and was defeated. In 1874 he was nominated on the school ticket and elected and again elected in 1878. In May 1882 he was appointed to a seat in the Legislative Council and held that position until his death. For nearly 40 years he was a trustee of St. James church, acting as Secretary-treasurer. The funeral took place Saturday last. The services at house and grave were conducted by Rev. W. Aitken. The pall bearers were James FISH, John BRANDER, Dr. STREET, John NICHOLSON, Enoch FLETT and William MASSON.
