    The death of our dear mother, Greta Mary White of Amherst occurred peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Gables Lodge in Amherst in her 98th year. Born on May 22, 1913 in St. Andre, NB, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Salome (Babineau) Cormier. In her earlier years, Greta worked for Eaton’s store in Montreal, Simpson’s Sears as well as Cecil’s Bakery for numerous years. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Amherst. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Bob (Darlene), Amherst and Fred, Halifax NS; her special grandchildren, Geoffrey (Lindsay), Natalie (Marc) and Jacob; great grandchildren, Noah, Caleb, Linnea and Miles; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Greta was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her husband, Edmund; sisters, Corine Legere and Doris Grant and sister, Mary in infancy; brothers, Leo, Ferdinand, Aurelle and Leonard. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Clements Cemetery in Port Elgin NB. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Greta’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice. On-line Condolences and Guest book may be forwarded to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca
