    Frank Catalli believes that Frederic Comeau settled in Scoudouc or Painsec area between 1868 and 1871. Genevieve, wife of Frederick, died in Lower Cove in April 1868 and their last child was born in Lower Cove in September 1867. In the Nova Scotia Vital Statistics for the birth of Lablanche Como, her father, Frederick R Como, is shown to be a resident of Lower Cove, Nova Scotia. Frederick appears in the New Brunswick 1871 census in Shediac Parish of which Scoudouc and Painsec were a part of at that time. His younger brother, Gregoire is living with him along with seven of his children.-note by A.Owen,April2014

    Yvon Leger's book, Beloved Acadia of My Ancestors, mentions how by this time DesBarres' properties in Menoudie, Nova Scotia had been sold to the tyrant, ambitious and vexing 'King' Seaman, and it was for this reason that Mathurin Comeau, his brother-in-law Francois Leger and other Acadians, asked and obtained permission for new land titles at Scoudouc, New Brunswick.
