    IreneFlorence LeBlanc
    1919-2013

    Irene Florence LeBlanc, age 93 of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. Born in Amherst, She was a Daughter of the late Thaddy and Alvina (Vienneau) Richard.

    Irene was lifetime member of the Holy Family Parish. In earlier years, she worked at the Maritime Pant Factory. Family was very important to Irene, she enjoyed spending time with her children. She was an avid card player and looked forward to playing with her friends.

    Irene will be deeply missed by her daughters; Carolyn Ferguson of Amherst,Phyllis (William) Thompson of Amherst, and Claudette Boyd of Parry Sound, ON; son, Alan (Cathy) of Amherst; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Bernadette Delaney of Montreal PQ; as well as many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Joseph LeBlanc in 1978, daughters,Theresa Murphy and Norma Beattie; twin granddaughters, Joan and Jeanette Ferguson; sisters, Lillian Richard, Laura Bourgeois, Emma Richard, Cecilia Trepanier, Yvonne Meganey, Anita Richard, and Leolynn Richard; brothers, Raymond, Rene, and Aurele.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Friday, June 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held from the Holy Family Parish at 1 pm on Saturday, June 15, Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Nativity Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Irene may do so to the Renewal Center at the Holy Family Parish.
