    Doris Goguen
    1933-2008

    Doris Goguen, 75, passed away suddenly at her residence in Cap-Pelé on Monday, December 22, 2008. Born September 7, 1933 in Saint-André, she was the daughter of the late Théophile and Ida (Gallant) LeBlanc. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Goguen worked at Four Seasons Restaurant in Shediac, and then with School District #11.

    She will be sadly missed by her special friend Mathias Vautour of Cap-Pelé, one daughter Norma Brine (Joe) of Saint-André, three sons: Donald (Bernice) and Douglas (Jennifer) both of Saint-André, and Danny (Jocelyne) of Cap-Pelé; four sisters: Eva LeBlanc (Pat) of Cap-Pelé, Léona Goguen (Alphonse) and Bernice Duguay (Henri-Eugène) both of Saint-André, and Marie-Mai LeBlanc of Louisiana; one brother Ola LeBlanc (Freda) of Moncton; four grandchildren: Jason, Nadine, Joey, Cynthia; four great grandchildren: Monika, Michael, Abigail and Véronique; and by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Goguen, and by three brothers: Yvon, André and Ovila LeBlanc.

    Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday,December 24, 2008 at Ste Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

    Family stories heard from various relatives have said that Damien LeBlanc used to go to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and to various parts of New Brunswick on contracts to cut lumber. He would take a group of men with him and was boss of the lumber camp.

    His grandson, Damien s/o Peter maintains his grave and stone and showed me (A Owen) where his grave was located in the Haute Aboujagane Cemetery in the summer of 1999. It confirmed that I had found the correct grave in 1974.
