In 1768, Pierre melanson is one of the "original tennants" of Desbarres at the Champs-Elysees. in 1794, their three sons, Jean...,David,and Pierre.. owned 43 cattle and 53 sheep and as a consequence were more prosperous than other Acadians in the region and also more than many English. Pierre Melanson and his wife, Marie Granger, were still living in 1790, because they are listed on the "List of French persons...Heads of families...He died during 1791 because his name is not listed in 1792.
