    Notes:

Discrepancy: Some genealogists and researchers believe that there were only 13 children and not 15 as per Gaudet's note regarding tradition saying there were 15 children. Twelve children are accounted for by baptisms, marriages, etc. It is possible that no children died on the voyage across the Atlantic in either 1750 or 1751.- note by A.Owen Nov 2010.

From Vienneau Reunion in 1994: The Vianot's were wine-makers in Bollene, France. It is believed that the business fell on hard times due to weather conditions and that Michael Vianot left with his family to sail for North America.

From Placide Gaudet's papers at CEA,Moncton (copied by A. Owen 1976).-arrived in Quebec with wife,Therese Baude in 1753 from parish of St Martin de Bollene, au diocese de St-Paul des Trois-Chateaux, France. Six of their children perished in the crossing which took many months. This family later settled at Saint Charles de Bellechasse and then around Memramcook. Tradition says there were 15 children from the marriage but the names of only 9 are known. Michel dit Michaud Vienneau died in Sept 1802 on the west bank of the river at Memramcook, aged 100 years and 3 months. His wife died in 1804 at 86 (and probably not 96 years as that would have made her 57 at the birth of her last child).

From Bona Arsenault, vol.5,p. 2144 -This family was at Saint-Charles de Bellechasse in 1758 and later settled in New Brunswick.

From Vienneau Family Tree from Philippe & Linda Vienneau - This family left France to move to Cape Breton but the ship did not make it to Louisbourg and landed in Machias, Maine. There they stocked up and then sailed down the St Lawrence River, arriving in Quebec City in 1753. Michel and his family left Quebec City in 1756 to relocate at St Charles de Bellechasse. In 1769 they moved along the St John River to Maugerville, 14 miles below Fredericton. Michel was a great skater and hunter. He became very popular with the Malecite after saving an Indian's life. In 1787 the family moved to Memramcook where Michel later died.

    Baptised:
His godparents were Joseph François Fert and Anne Maton.

    Residence:
The Leaflet on the Vienneau family obtained in 1994, gives the sailing period from France to North America as sometime between 1750 and 1756. However, a son is baptized in Quebec city in November 1751 so the sailing must have occurred between 1750 and fall of 1751.-note by A.Owen, March2019

In the article La Famille Vienneau written by Placide Gaudet and published in l`èvangeline newspaper on 12 July 1974, it mentions that 24 families left France to sail to Maghs (today Machias, Maine). For reasons that have never been known, the captain of the vessel landed them in Quebec city after having been aboard the ship for eleven months. Among these families was that of Michel Vienneau. Tradition reports that Michel was a cartwright and his wife was a shepardess...they arived in Quebec around 1750.

    Died:
Article by Placide Gaudet in L'evangeline newspaper dated 16 Mar 1893 says that when Michel Vienneau died in Sep 1802 he was aged 102 which would mean that he had to be born in 1700 instead of 1710.

Michel married Therese Baud\Baude 23 Dec 1738, Saint-Martin - Bollène, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. Therese (daughter of Pierre Baude and Marthe Duberry) was born Abt 1718; died Mar 1804, Memramcook, Westmorland County, New Brunswick. [Group Sheet]

  2. 5.  Therese Baud\Baude was born Abt 1718 (daughter of Pierre Baude and Marthe Duberry); died Mar 1804, Memramcook, Westmorland County, New Brunswick.

    Other Events:

    • Occupation: shepardess
    • Residence: Nov 1751, Quebec City, Quebec
    • Residence: Oct 1758, St Charles, Bellechasse County, Quebec

    Notes:

    Died:
Her age at death was given as 96 years (sic) Note by A.Owen: this would mean that Therese gave birth to her last child in 1765 at the age of 57 which is highly unlikely.

    Notes:

Witnesses at their marriage were Jean Joseph Glaiseau and Jean-Baptiste Imbert.

    Children:

    Notes:

Bona-vol.3,p.920-says he married around 1755 to Marie-Anne Gaudet probably the daug of Pierre and Marguerite Hebert - I believe this spouse name is incorrect. Pierre was called Pierre dit Pierrot; he was a prisoner of the English at Fort Cumberland, where he escaped, disguised as a woman. He was at Sainte-Anne-du-Pays-Bas along the Saint John River in 1756;at Quebec in 1758-1760; at l'Islet in the region of Quebec from 1761-1764 and again along the Saint John River in 1770 and 1774. After a stay at Madawaska, he settled atMemramcook in 1787 with a group of Acadians who were forced to abandon their land at Sainte-Anne-du-Pays-Bas(today Fredericton) to the American Loyalists. These families were given permission to settle on the west bank of the Memramcook in the direction of Taylor Village. J02-p.106-Pierre dit Pierrot a Nannette,b.dt.,marr. info,d.dt.;says Nanette is the daughter of Augustin and Agnes Chiasson N01-PGaudet article, Feb 12,1942-gives spouse name of Nanette Gaudet daug of Augustin Gaudet and Agnes Chiasson His birth place is either Kamouraska(see Irene's notes) or Beaubassin(J02-p.106)- look for baptism for verification. T15-This family was held prisonners of England at Fort Cumberland(Fort Beausejour) for awhile. Then went up to Bay Ste Anne, N>B>, then up the St.John River in 1756, then on to Que,1758-1760. Other Events:

    • Residence: Abt 1730, Ouescoque (today Westcock, NB)
    • Residence: Abt 1750, LeLac

    Notes:

Discrepancy: in Bona Arsenault's vol3, p.914 he states that Pierre was at Missagoueche, along the Saint John River in New Brunswick in 1770. But other sources indicate that he was deceased by then. As in Surette's Atlas of Beaubassin, Pierre is said to have been the victim of a soldier's aggression and dies shortly after the family leaves Ouescoque in the forced move to LeLac. In Un Historique de la famille Cormier published for the Acadian Reunion in 1994, it indicates that he died about 1750. And in Stephen White's Dictionnaire it indicates that Pierre died between the time the census was taken for 1750-51 and the time it was taken Jan 1, 1752.
In Un Historique de la famille Cormier it indicates that his wife and her son Pierre sought refuge in 1755 along the Saint John River, then at Kamouraska. And was also at Ste Anne (Fredericton) in 1768.
Another discrepancy: Bona Arsenault lists Etienne as one of his sons and says that Etienne was deported along with his brothers, Michel and Joseph, to South Carolina. Michel and Joseph later settled in Louisianna but there is no further mention of Etienne. None of the other sources mentioned above mention Etienne as a son of Pierre and Cecile.

    Residence:
Discrepency on where he lived after marrying. Placide Gaudet in his newspaper article on the genealogy of Antoine J Cormier mentions that Pierre Cormier and his wife Cecile Thibodeau settled in Vechkok in Cumberland County and lived there until 1750 when they emigrated to Ouescak (today Westcock) where they lived until the turmoil of 1755. Surette in his Atlas Beaubassin mentions that 'From Ouescoque, on the footsteps of old Alexis Cormier, who has already joined the families of his sons, the founders of LeLac, come the children and grandchildren of his youngest brother Pierre...' and goes on to mention Pierre Cormier along with his wife Cecile Thibodeau as being one of this group, therefore implying that Pierre was from Ouescoque with his family. The book, Histoire de la famille Cormier on page 28 says that Pierre and Cecile settled around 1730 at Rivieres-des-Hebert (Menoudie) and that they were forced to settle at Aulac around 1750.

    Residence:
Forced to flee here with his family, he died around this time (about 1750).

    Died:
Stephen White gives Pierre's death as occuring sometime between the census of 1750-51 and the census of 1 Jan 1752. 'Histoire de la famille Cormier' says that Pierre died around 1750. Surette's Atlas of Beaubassin says that Pierre was the victim of the soldier's aggression when he and his family were forced to leave Ouescoque to go to LeLac and he dies soon after leaving his widow with ten children.

Pierre married Cecile Thibodeau 17 Jul 1730, Grand Pre. Cecile (daughter of Jean Thibodeau and Marguerite Hebert) was born 5 Nov 1712, Grand Pre; died Abt 1787. [Group Sheet]
