    Notes:

    Misc:
It seems the Noll family came from Rimmels, in Hesse, Germany through Alsace to Pennsylvania, settling in Berkshire County. It is thought that Hans George Noll's wife Christina's maiden name was Oberlin and that she was from Alsace.

Most of the families of this region spoke both German and French. There is a tradition that the Somers family communicated in both languages. The suffix -in was often added to a woman's maiden last name when she was married according to Pennsylvania Dutch tradition, so Null became Nullin.

Here is the information as I have it:

From the genealogy of Jacob R. Miller and his descendants (DAR): John
George Null came to this country on the Loyal Judith which landed in
Philadelphia on September 25, 1732. He settled in Berks County
Pennsylvania. On board ship there were 119 men. Three different spellings
    of the name are given:

John Jurgh Noll Hans Jerig Noll Hans Georg Noll Hans Jurg Null

Mathias Summer m. Christina Null(in) Oct 23, 1749 Witnesses: Jacob Shutt,
Hans Jurg Null, Johan. Jurg Kurtz, Philipp Haller, John Dorett

The Null family settled on a stream in Pennsylvania, named the Swatara. There were
seven children in the family; five sons, and two daughters. Their names
were John, Nicholas, Balser( Balthazar?) [Henry]; and one brother that Father did not
know his name. The sisters were Mrs. Brenner and Mrs. Gunckel.
