    Died:
    The Bourgeois book by Paul-Pierre Bourgeois, page 72, states that Germain ``d 1711, Port Royal, en prison comme hôtage du serment d'àllégence (61a)``. This translates into something like: he died in prison as a hostage for the oath of allegiance.
    White's dictionnaire gives Germain's death as appearing in the Port Royal parish register in 1711, "durant la captivité de Père Durand à Boston" which translates to 'during the cpativity of Father Durand at Boston'.

    In 'History of the Acadians' by Bona Arsenault, he mentions on page 31 that administration of D'Aulnay's estate was awarded jointly to d'Aulnay's widow and to Germain Doucet dit Laverdure who was a trusted associate of D'Aulnay's at Penobscot.
