LUTES MOUNTAIN
(Special) -- Lilla Riley Matthews, 89, of Lutes Mountain, died Sunday at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Alma, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Riley) Gordon. A member of the Silver Cross Mothers of Canada she attended Lutes Mountain United Baptist Church. Her husband, Wilfred L. Matthews, died in 1955. Two sisters, Hazel and Jean, and a daughter and three sons all died previously. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Horsman of Stilesville, Mrs. William Clark (Marjorie) of Ottawa Mrs. Gordon Smith (Linda) of Scotch Village, N.S., and Mrs. Bernie LeBlanc (Helen) of Moncton; three sons, Fred. of Chatham Gerald of Lutes Mountain, and Lee of Moncton; a sister, Mrs. Marshall Rayner (Dorothy) of Summerside, P.E.I.; 38 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grand-child, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, Moncton, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Horsman Cemetery, Lutes Mountain, in the spring.
