    Obituary

Marjorie Muriel Montgomery Hamrick Gadzia ENCINITAS -- Marjorie Muriel Montgomery Hamrick Gadzia passed from this world July 13, 2012 with her son,John and daughter-in-law, Marian at her side in their home in Caon City, Colorado. Marje was born at her parents' home in Evanston, Illinois at 2:15 the afternoon of April 22, 1915. She married James R. Hamrick, Sr., in Reno, Nevada on July 21, 1932. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Webb King Brown in San Bernardino, Calif., on June 5, 1937. She and Jimmie had four children, Diane Abair, Sheila Pryor, James Jr., and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Hunter Montgomery and Leona Carrie O'Neil Montgomery; her brother, Donald Montgomery; and her three sisters, Lucille Robken, Dorice Van de Venter and Virginia Kloek; and by her husband, Jimmie in 1984. Marje remarried and was sealed in the Los Angeles Temple May 28, 1982 to Samuel Gadzia. Marje and Sammie lived many happy years in their home in Encinitas, California until they moved to Grand Junction, Colo., in 2004, and thence to Salt Lake City where Sammie passed away December 14, 2008. Sammie had three sons, Chris, Kirk and Jeff. Between the two families, Marje enjoyed the attention of seven children, 34 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Marje served on three missions later in life: one a solo mission to North Carolina, one to Wales and one to Sicily, both with Sammie. All of her friends enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor. Her generosity was well known and appreciated. She enjoyed gardening and the abundance of life inside and outside her houses was a true wonder. Her life and death should not be mourned, as she lived a life of example to all those around her. She was a faithful sister in her church and will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a service in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, July 28.
