    STEWART, Herbert Calvin "Herb" - 41, Union Street, Pictou, died Thursday, September 6, 2001, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Herbert and Shirley (MacPhee) Stewart. Herb lived most of his life in Central Caribou. He worked in the seafood plant in Caribou and more recently with Future Forestry. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Oulton; sons, Chris and Matt, at home; sister, Sherry (Lawrence) Rondelet, Pictou; nephew, Trevor; nieces, Megan and Katie; several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by brother, John James. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday in McLaren Funeral Chapel, Pictou, Rev. William White officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

    OULTON, GEORGE EDWARD "ED" - George Edward “Ed” Oulton, 78, of Sussex, and formerly of Moncton and The Glades, passed away at his residence on July 18, 2013. Born in Chartersville, he was a son of the late Roy and Ida Mae (nee Charters) Oulton. Ed was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of the Salvation Army; he served for 36 years as a bandsman playing the bass drum. He was also a member of the River Glade Friends & Neighbours. Ed is survived by his wife, Harriet Oulton (nee Mahar); his daughters: Beth Richardson (John) of Sussex, Shirley Jeske (Steve) of Sheboygan, WI, Heather Colbers (John) of Halifax, NS, and Kim Aultman (Dennis) of Salisbury; his sons: Owen Oulton of Ottawa, ON, Carl Oulton (Jodie) of Mt. Uniacke, NS, Murray Oulton (Ronalda) of Halifax, NS, and John Oulton of Riverview; his sisters: Helen Arsenault of Moncton, Shirley Dobson of Riverview, Jean MacPherson (Raymond) of Little River, and Donna Melanson of Moncton; his brothers: Douglas Oulton (Shirley) of Oshawa, ON, Robert Oulton (Edna) of Dieppe, and Howard Oulton (Rita) of Pine Glen; fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; as well as by many extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by his brothers: Ronald and Stanley, and by his sister, Alice Oulton. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm; the funeral service will be held on Monday July 22, 2013 at 1:30 pm with Major Judy Folkins presiding, all in the Salvation Army Church, Sussex. Interment will be held in The Glades Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex would be appreciated by the family.
