    Veronica L. Godfrey Wilkinson
    November 29, 1944 - October 07, 2014
    Wilkinson, Veronica Lyttle (Godfrey) - age 69, Oxford, passed away at home, Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Inez (Miller) Hunter. Veronica worked for many years at Sunset Adult Residential Centre in the Pugwash and also with Oxford Frozen Foods. She was a faithful adherent of the Church of the Nazarene, Oxford, and was a member of the Oxford Frozen Foods Pioneer Club. Veronica loved her family and friends and was a well liked person in her community. She was very loved by her family and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Wilkinson; son, Gordon Reginald (Kim) Godfrey; brother, Albro Vaughn (Phyllis) Hunter, Riverview, NB; sisters, Kathleen (William) Porter, Mississauga, ON; Maxine (Gerald) Walker, Springhill; Darlene (Robert) Arsenault, Amherst; grandchildren, Bobby and Raymond; step-son, Lloyd “John” Wilkinson Jr.; step-daughter, Nicole Kitsko; step-grandchildren, Madlyn and Karson. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Godfrey; sister, Emma June Stewart; brother, Reginald Hunter. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, October 11, followed immediately by funeral service at 3 p.m., all in the Church of the Nazarene, Main Street, Oxford with Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, Oxford (902-447-2930). Donations to charity of choice.     OXFORD - Charles Frederick Hunter, 72, of Oxford, died Monday in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.  Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Joseph and Myrtle (McCarthy) Hunter.  Surviving are his wife, the former Inez Miller; four daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. William Porter), Mississauga, Ont.; Veronica (Mrs. Gordon Godfrey), Oxford; Maxine (Sheryl), Dartmouth; Darlene, Truro; two sons, Reginald, Dawson Creek, B.C.; Albro, Moncton; two sisters, Lucy (Mrs. Leonard Terris) and Pearl Casey, both of Springhill; a brother Harry, Amherst; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Emma Ryan; a daughter, June, and four brothers, Wesley, Wylie, Bernie and Garnet.  The body is in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Lic. Raeburn MacNeill officiating, assisted by Rev. Bert Collins, with burial in Oxford Pine Grove Cemetery.

    HUNTER, Inez A - 88, of Oxford, Cumberland County, died Friday, February 16, 2001, in Gables Lodge, Amherst.  Born in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late John and Maude (Brownell) Miller.  She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed her family.  Surviving are sons, Reginald (Carole) Hunter, Dawson Creek, B.C.; Albro (Phyllis), Riverview, New Brunswick; daughters, Kathleen (Bill) Porter, Mississauga; Veronica Godfrey, Oxford; Sherryl Hunter (Gerald Walker), Springhill; Darlene Hunter, Hamilton; brother Vaughn Miller, Brantford, Ont.; sister, Lyttle Petrus, Amherst; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charles F., and daughter, June Stewart; brothers, Herman and Aubrey Miller.  Visitation will be today (Monday), 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford with Rev. Kevin Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice would be appreciated.
