    BROWN, Blair Eldon - The death of Blair Brown age 75, of Amherst, occurred peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2003, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan. He was surrounded by those who loved him. Born in Wards Brook, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Captain Eldon and Evidene (Tibbetts) Brown. After graduating from Success Business College, Truro, Blair moved to Amherst, where he worked for CNR Express office for 27 years and later Via Rail for eight years retiring in 1986. He was an active member of the Amherst Y's Mens Club. For many years, he enjoyed swimming and the comraderie at the YMCA. Blair enjoyed camping, bluegrass music and attended and sang at various functions. He was an adherent of First Baptist Church, Amherst. Blair is survived by his cherished daughter, Trudy-Louise, Amherst; sister, Eva Mattatall, Truro; niece, Veronica, Avalon; nephews, Michael, Jack, Stephen, Robert; sister-in-law, Jeanette Brown, Sydney. On this day he joins his loving wife, Polly; brother, Vaughan; sister, Jessie. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all. His remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, with visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, Amherst, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment in the spring in Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Blair's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. www.campbellsfh.com

    The death of Percy SIDDALL, who had been a resident of Amherst for some time, occurred suddenly at his home, 8 Terrace street, Sunday afternoon. Though he had not been in rugged health for some years, he was able to be about as usual, and his sudden passing came as a great shock to his family and friends. He was 38 years of age, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Siddall. Besides his wife, the former Dorothy Trenholm of Amherst, the late Mr. Siddall is survived by two children, a daughter, Pauline and son Percy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Siddall of Amherst, four brothers and four sisters. the sisters are Mrs. Vincent Morris and Mrs. Earl Eaton of Southampton, Mrs. Clement Skinner of Amherst, and Mrs. George Bigelow of Moncton; the brothers are Hedley of Amherst, Dr. A. M. Siddall of Pubnico, Hazen and Stephen, both of Amherst. All will have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in Amherst and the country in their bereavement. The funeral service will be held from the home of Mrs. Earl Eaton, Southampton, Tuesday at 2 p.m.

    JOHN W. SIDDALL, 89, of South Hampton, Cumberland County, died yesterday at home. He was born in South Hampton. He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Brown; one son, Dr. A. M. Siddall, Yarmouth; four daughters, Effie (Mrs. Earl Eaton), and Vila (Mrs. J. V. Morris), both of South Hampton, Dorothy (Mrs. Clement Skinner), Dartmouth, and Grace (Mrs. George Bigelow), Amherst. The body is at home, where funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with Earl Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the South Hampton United Cemetery.

    Mrs. John W. Siddall, 91, of Southampton died Wednesday at Highland View Regional Hospital. Born at East Mapleton, the former Marjorie Ethel Brown, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and August (Bird) Brown. She is survived by four daughters, Vila (Mrs. Vincent Morris), Effie (Mrs. Earl Eaton) and Dorothy (Mrs. Clement Skinner) all of Southampton and Grace (Mrs. George Bigelow) Amherst; one sister Jane (Mrs. Charles Himmelsbough), St. Cloud, Fla.; 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Her husband and six sons died before her. The body is at the home of Earl Eaton, Southampton, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Mr. Eaton, assisted by Rev. Cecil MacArthur, officiating. Burial will be in the Southampton Cemetery.
