Walter Dixon 1930-2016

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Dixon, age 86, of Jolicure, NB.  Walter passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 peacefully with his loving wife by his side at the Westford Nursing Home where he had received wonderful care.
Born in Cambridge, Mass , he was a son of the late Walter and Ida (Patterson) Dixon.
Walter was a very hard worker and especially loved to work in the woods.  He loved to Trout fish and spending time with friends by the river.  He always kept a small farm going at home, spending many years tending to his property and animals.  He helped to build the Dam in Sackville then worked for 12 years with the Department of Transportation, later working for many years in Amherst at Mobile Home plants.  
He will be deeply missed by his wife Emily Dixon, Jolicure; daughter Maggie Dixon (Brian Blenkhorn), Dartmouth; sons, Stanley (Anne), Mates Corner, Jeffrey (Darlene), Sackville, Herb (Colleen), Watford, ON and Wayne, Mt. Whatley; grandchildren, Scott (Natalie), Peter (Christine), Patrick (Cassie), Carter (Victoria), Jeffrey (Megan), Matthew (Jess), Emily (Jamie), and Melissa; great grandchildren Molly, Janelle, Celinda, Mason, Rory and Porter; brother Roy (Shelley) Dixon, Point de Bute, NB.
Walter was predeceased by his infant daughter Helen in 1957, daughter Joyce in 2016; grandsons Christopher Murray Dixon-Read in 1997 and Walter Dixon in 1986. 
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300), where Cremation has taken place.  In keeping with Walter's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A graveside service will be held in the Point de Bute Cemetery in the spring.
