SHEA, Douglas Vaughn - 70, 3 Lorne St., Springhill, died February 3, 1994, in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late William A. and Lillian Maude (Brown) Shea. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Springhill and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 17. He served overseas during the Second World War with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and later in the Army Medical Corps. His working years were spent with Canadian National Express as a painter. He is survived by his wife, the former Nellie Jean Simpson; son, William Owen, Springhill; daughter, Barbara Jean (Mrs. Delbert Amon), Riverview, N.B.; brother, James D., Dartmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Muriel Gould, Mrs. Betty Smith, both of Amherst; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Jack, William, Ronald. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, where a legion service will be 7 p.m. tonight and where funeral will be 2 p.m Saturday, Rev. Glenn Eason officiating. Spring burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.

Nellie Jean Shea, aged 87 years of Springhill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Highcrest Nursing Home, Springhill, with her family by her side. Born in Bay View, PEI, she was a daughter of the Late Earl Owen and Annie Evelyn (Robinson) Simpson.Nellie was a dedicated blood donor for 25 years, and a long time volunteer for the Kidney Foundation. She enjoyed taking her children for frequent visits with family at her family farm in North Rustico, and to Amherst to see Nana Shea. Nellie was avid card player, spending many hours playing 45's with friends at the Happy Neighbours card club. Family was very important to Nellie, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her son William "Billy" Shea of Springhill and daughter Barbara Jean (Del) Amon, of Parrsboro; brothers, Donald, of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Harold and Preston, both of North Rustico, PEI; sisters, Clemmie (Lewis) Campbell, of Grams Road, PEI and Vivian (Vernon) Hiscott, of North Rustico, PEI; two grandchildren, Geoff (Sandra) Amon, of Calgary, AB, and Melissa (Tyler) Thomas, of Rusagonish, NB; two great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Brianna Amon, as well as several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband Douglas; brother, Eric Simpson and sister, Hazel Buell. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2 pm from the Funeral Home with The Reverend Wayne McCarthur officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
