    Larry Patterson (August 16, 1951 - May 24, 2011)The death of Larry William Patterson, 59, of Baie Verte, NB occurred on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital in Sackville, NB with his loving family by his side. Born on August 16, 1951 in Sackville, NB, he was a son of William and Katherine (Kay) (Briggs) of Point de Bute, NB. Larry was a longtime transport driver as well as a heavy duty equipment operator. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, country classics music and the company of his friends and family, always ready to share a good joke or story. Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed. He leaves behind to mourn his parents, William and Kay, Point de Bute, NB; loving wife of 38 years the former, Donna Burley, Baie Verte, NB; beloved children, Kenneth (June) Abbott, Trenton, ON, Dennis (Tammy) Patterson, Bowmanville, ON and Lori (Alban) Patterson, Petit Cap, NB; special grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Richard, Matthew, Brandon and Dylan; sisters, Linda (Gary) Dunham, Sackville, NB and Rhonda (Anthony) Hicks, Point de Bute, NB; brothers, Perry, and Kevin (Marjorie), both of Point de Bute, NB; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.     STRANG, ROY ALLISON - Roy Allison Strang, age 90, of Baie Verte, passed away peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin on Monday, October 26, 2009. Born in Tidnish, NB, he was the son of the late Morley and Lily (Brundage) Strang. Roy will be sadly missed by his son, Victor (June), Baie Verte, NB; two step-sons, Victor (Deborah) Sears and David (Janice) Sears both of Sackville; daughter Katherine (William) Patterson, Point De Bute; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by his first wife Annie Briggs in 1966 and his second wife Muriel Phinney in 1999. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB (506-538-2241) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the funeral home on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca

    TIDNISH - Mrs. Roy A. Strang, 53, of Tidnish died Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Samuel Briggs of Wallace. She attended Trinity St. Stephens United Church. Surviving, besides her husband are a daughter, Kathryn (Mrs. William Patterson) of Point de Bute; a son Victor in Ontario; three sisters, Pearl (Mrs. Charles Stevens) of Pugwash; Frances (Mrs. Arnold Gorveatt) of Amherst; Uyanita (Mrs. Wellington Sprague) of Fox Harbor; and several grandchildren. Her body is at Campbell's Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Tidnish in the spring.
