    Obituary

    SMITH, Austin Hibbert - 71, Oxford Junction, died Sunday in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Baie Verte, Westmorland County, N. B., he was a son of the late William R. and Lilly V. (Oulton) Smith. He served in the Canadian Air Force. He was a retired sawyer, having worked many years for Cobequid Lumber Company, Oxford Junction. He is survived by two daughters, Jane Smith, Oxford; Susan Currie, Dartmouth; five brothers, Layton, Victor, Harold, all of Amherst; Arnold, Allison, both of Shinimicas, Cumberland County; three sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Harold Ogden) Amherst; Maude (Mrs. Ben Gray), British Columbia; Grace (Mrs. Will Oulton) Ontario; four grandchildren; a great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lidy Oulton. The body is in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Burial in Shinimicas United Church Cemetery.

    OXFORD JUNCTION - Lidy Marie (Oulton) SMITH, 68, Oxford Junction, Cumberland County, died Friday, June 29, 1990 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Tidnish Bridge, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Manford and Alica (Davidson) Oulton. She was a member and church treasurer of St. Andrews United Church, Oxford Junction. She was a member of the UCW, Oxford Junction. She was also a member of the Nova Scotia and Canadian Dairy Goat Association. She is survived by her husband, Austen Smith: two daughters, Jane, Oxford; Susan Currie, Dartmouth; a brother, Darrell Oulton, Fall River, Halifax County; four grandchildren; one great grandchild. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary, Dorothy. Her remains rested in MacDaiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford, where funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Hubert Bartlett officiated assisted by Rev. Morley Bentley. Burial was in the Shinimicas Bridge Cemetery.

    AMHERST - The death of William Renaldo Smith occurred suddenly at his home on Eddy Street. He was 75 and a well known lumberman. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Smith of Shinimicas. Besides his second wife Rena, he is survived by three daughters, Maude (Mrs. B.C. Gray) Edmundston, N.B.; Mrs. W.C. Oulton, Brantford, Ont.; Mrs. H.M. Ogden, East Amherst; six sons, Layton, Halifax; Arnold, Shinimicas Bridge; Victor, Tyndal Road; Austin, Shinimicas Bridge; Harold, Amherst and Allison, Oxford; three step-children Todd T. Trenholm, Baie Verte Road, Mrs. Robert Oulton, Amherst and Mrs. Layton Cameron, Amherst. The late Mr. Smith will rest at Furlongs Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the Shinimicas Bridge Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30.

    OBITUARY

    AMHERST - Manford Russell OULTON, 65, of 151 Church Street, died suddenly at the Highland View Hospital. Mr. Oulton was born in Lornville, N.S. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Oulton. Mr. Oulton a carpenter by trade had resided in Amherst for the past 27 years. Previously he had lived in Tidnish Bridge and for four years had been employed as a blacksmith by the Lincoln Pulp Co. in Moose River. He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Davidson of Tidnish Bridge; one daughter, Lidy (Mrs. Austin Smith), Shinimicas, N.S.; one son, Daniel of Fall River, Halifax County; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Beaton, Lornville; and five grandchildren. The body is at Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst, and funeral services will be held from there tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Rev. A. H. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge.

    AMHERST – Mrs. L. Alice OULTON, 79, of 151 Church Street, Amherst, died Sunday at the home of her son Darrell in Fall River East. Born in Tidnish Bridge, N.B., she was a daughter of the late R. B. and Lillie (Brundage) Davidson. She was a seamstress and homemaker, a member of the Pythian Sisters Elizabeth Temple No 6 and of Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 36. She is survived by a daughter, Lidy (Mrs. Austin Smith), Oxford Junction, a son, Darrell, Fall River East; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Baxter, Tidnish Crossroads; and Dot (Mrs. Samuel Rice), Saugus, Mass.; a brother Norman H. Davidson, Tidnish Bridge, Nova Scotia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Manford in 1964, and two infant daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Dorothy Ann. The body is in Furlong’s Funeral Home, Amherst, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Maynard Rector. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to any charity.
