    Bernice T. (Bunn) McDonald  1911-2011
    Bernice Thelma (Bunn) McDonald, widow of the late John L. (Jack) McDonald, o f the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Water Street, Miramichi, passed away at her residence, on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at the age of 99.
    Born in Newcastle, on October 22, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Manford and Margaret D. (McCullum) Price.  She was a homemaker as well as an intergral part of the management and operation of the former McDonald Hardware Ltd.; a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a life member of the Edith Bell Unit, of the U.C.W.; a Charter Member of the Prince Charles Chapter # 27, Order of the Eastern Star; a 60 year member of the Miramichi Chapter of the I.O.D.E.
    She is survived by two sons, John H. McDonald and Robert L. McDonald, both of Miramichi; four grandchildren, Reinhardt, Sheila, Robert, Bruce; four great grandchildren, Anne, Linn, Jack, Hudson; five nieces, JoAnne and Margaret Laurin, of Montreal, Marilee Hierlihy, of Carp, Ont. Eleanor Hierlihy, of Toronto, Ont., Judy Smith, of Yellowstone, Park, USA; one nephew, Jim Katzung, of Florida, USA.  She was precdeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1986; three sisters, Jeanette Katzung, Eleanor Laurin, Mary Hierlihy; one daughter in law, Una McDonald.
    Visiting was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday.  The funeral service was held from St. Andrews United Church, on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight.  Scriptures were read by Candice McDonald and Judy Carpenter.  The hymns were "O Master Let Me Walk With Thee", "Abide With Me" and the recessional hymn was "Mine Eyes have Seen The Glory".  A solo was offered by Kim Shaddick, "Beyond The Sunset".
    Members of Prince Charles Chapter # 27, Order of the Eastern Star, held a service at the funeral home on Sunday evening.
    The honorary pallbearers were John G. Burchill, Bill Smith, Mike Chandler, Clint Hayward, Louise Keith, Marg Adams, Ida Currie, Marion Trevors.  Active pallbearers were John D. Trevors, Rick Trevors, Derek Burchill, John Burchill Jr., Cameron B. Sobey, Wilson G. Sobey, Kerry Ross.  Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi.
    As expressions of sympathy, donations to Riverside Cemetery Fund or Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, would be appreciated by the family.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone 773-3492.  Messages of condolence or donations may also be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
