    ROBERTSON, Gladys Wilma - Barney's River Station, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, with her family by her side. Born June 20, 1918 in Glenelg, she was the eldest daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Fisher) Smith. At an early age she began a career in teaching, attending Provincial Normal College and teaching in one-room schools in Pictou, Cumberland and Guysborough Counties. She lived all her married life in Barney's River Station. She was a member of Barney's River Presbyterian Church and a life member of Dr. E. G. B. Foote AMS. Gladys was a talented lady who handcrafted beautiful knit, crochet and quilted items for her family and friends. She enjoyed keeping up with current events, a good book and challenging crossword puzzles. She was very proud of her grandchildren whom she loved very much. Surviving are her son, Ian and wife, Jean, Barney's River Station; daughter, Ann and husband, Ivan DeCoste, Merigomish; grandchildren, Emily and Warren Robertson, Jonathan DeCoste; brother, Dr. Robert "Bob" and wife, Kaye Smith, Renforth, N.B.; sister, Myrtle Greene, Kenzieville; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester Ross Robertson; brother, Fisher "Buz"; sister, Edna. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Barney's River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lorne Mac-Leod officiating. Interment will be in Kenzieville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to Barney's River Presbyterian Church.

Lester (son of Harlan Page Robertson and Margaret Grace Bannerman) was born 10 Aug 1912, Barney's River, Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada; died 13 May 1999, New Glasgow, Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada; was buried 17 May 1999, Kenzieville Cemetery, Kenzieville, , Nova Scotia, Canada.
