LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND

Lea Richard (nee Dauvin), age 90, years died October 7, 2008. Formerly from Joggins, N.S., in Liverpool, England, where she had been living with her daughter for the past four years.
She was born in Joggins, N.S., on Dec. 16, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Laura Dauvin (nee Tilmant).
She spent most of her life in Joggins, but moved to Liverpool in 2004 at the age of 86 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a dear friend to so many.
She was an active member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church all her life and worked with the CWL for over 50 years. In 2003, she was presented with the Archdiocese Medal for service to the Church by the Archbishop of Halifax.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Laura Dauvin, a brother Victor, her first husband Elmer Terrio, her second husband Lionel Richard, her son Douglas Richard and her grandson Robert Stewart.
She is survived by her son Terry Terrio (Margie), her daughter Debbie (Brian), a brother Louis, two sisters Lil and Renee, her grandchildren Scott, Devin, K.J. and Rebecca, her great-grandchildren Emma, Claire, Henry and Eva, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held on Oct. 16, 2008 at Saint Austin’s Church, Liverpool, England. A memorial service will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Joggins, on a later date.

MELANSON, Arthur - 97, Amherst, formerly of Joggins, died September 7, 2008, in Victoria Manor. He was a son of the late Isreal and Alice (LeBlanc) Melanson. Surviving are sons, Morris (Patti), Richard (Judy); daughter, Margaret (Terry) Terrio; daughter-in-law, Carolyn; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn (LeBlanc); son, Robert; five brothers and sisters. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 16, in River Hebert and Joggins Community Funeral Home River Hebert.
