    Notes:

    Misc:
Jacobus estimated his birth date as "by 1690." Harris concurs, showing that Walter1 Harris was first called "senior" sometime between March 1707/1708 and August 1709, leading to the estimate that his son Walter Jr. was born between March 1686/1687 and August 1688.
In 1711 he was called Walter Harris Jr. of Middletown.
Middletown records show that Walter Harris married there three times between 1713 and 1720; Harris says his first two wives probably died at the births of a first child.
Two days before he married his first wife, Walter Harris, a resident of Middletown, bought from her brother John Ranney five acres of the Thomas Ranney estate in East Middletown, later Portland. In May 1715 he purchased an adjacent five-acre parcel from John's brother Ebenezer Ranney.
In 1721/1722 Walter Harris owned the Covenant and was chosen to collect a minister's rate in 1723. He was a member of the school committee in 1728 at the East Society in Middletown (Portlant First Congregational Church Records).
On 10 March 1729/1730 he sold his homestead in Middletown to Ebenezer Lyman of the North Parish in Lebanon, Connecticut. His last deed was acknowledged at Hartford on 4 September 1730.
By 1732 he was living at Lebanon, in the part later called Columbia, when he was mentioned in the will of his wife's father Ebenezer Booth of Stratford, Connecticut.
On 27 November 1746 at Lebanon, Walter and Deborah Harris made an arrangement with their son-in-law Ebenezer Buck of Hebron, Connecticut; they conveyed to Ebenezer their 55 acre homestead on condition that he "take the special care of them to maintain and provide for them ... fitting and suitable for their old age." In May 1747, Ebenezer Buck of Hebron assigned his interest in this property to Nathaniel Harris of Lebanon for L600, but no transfer of the obligation was mentioned. On 17 March 1759 his land there was mentioned as adjoining a parcel owned by John Woodward, which was sold on that date to Walter's son Nathaniel.

Walter married Abigail Ranney 21 Jan 1713/4, Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut, United States. Abigail died Yes, date unknown. [Group Sheet]
