    STRANG, William B. (Bill) - 84, Halifax, formerly of Port Clyde, Shelburne County, died September 8, 1994, in Northwood Centre. Born in Port Clyde, he was a son of the late Ervie and Bessie (Atkinson) Strang. He spent most of his working years in construction. He was a member of the Port LaTour United Baptist Church. He was a past grand master of the IOOF Lodge and past master of the Philadelphia Lodge 47, Barrington Passage. He is survived by his wife, the former Edna MacKay; three sons, David, Gander, Nfld.; Al, Moncton, N.B.; Paul, Dartmouth; brother, Haywood, Shubenacadie; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Dickson; brother, Kenneth; grandson, Stephen. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Port Clyde Cemetery, Rev. Gordon Simmonds officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwood Home Care or any charity. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax.

    Edna Strang
    1917-2008
    STRANG, Edna Mae - 91, Dartmouth, passed away on December 31, 2008, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Thomasville, she was a daughter of the late Godfrey and Elzie (Perry) MacKay. She will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. Edna is survived by her sons, Al, Moncton, N.B.; Paul (Gail), Dartmouth; and David (Frances), Gander, N.L.; sister, Annie Reynolds, Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Josh, Jeffrey, Shannon and Stephen, as well as six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Burpee Strang, as well as sisters, Hazel and Mildred Lowe. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Transitional Care Unit of the Dartmouth General Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, N.S. (477-5601). By request, there will be no visitation or service.
