    The Amherst Citizen January 10, 2009

    With great sadness, the family of Carol Ann Terrio, age 59, announce her passing at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 30, 2008.

    Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of Dean Bell and the late Catherine (Howatt) Bell.

    Carol was employed for several years as an operator with Maritime Tel and Tel before working at Access Nova Scotia prior to retirement.

    She was a member of the Holy Family Parish congregation. She enjoyed her holidays at the family cottage at Cape Traverse, PEI.

    Carol will be sadly missed by her sons, Christopher (Stephanie) and Paul (Brandy), both of Amherst; grandchildren, Derian, Zachary, Mikhail and Daniel; her father Dean Bell, Amherst; sister, Nancy Bell, Amherst; brothers, Peter, Summerside, PEI, Gary (Judy) and David (Debbie Williams), both of Amherst; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 2004.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777).
    A funeral mass was celebrated from Holy Family Parish, Amherst on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10 a.m., Rev. Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.

    Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery in the spring.

    Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the LA Animal Shelter, or a fund of the donor’s choice gratefully accepted.

    H. Dean Bell
    1921-2010
    H. Dean Bell,88 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Northumberland Hall, Amherst, Born in Cape Traverse PEI, he was a son of the late Nathan & Annie (Howatt) Bell.
    Dean served over seas with the Air Force during WWII as a Radar Technician. After the war, he worked with the CBC as a Radio Technician ,initially in Sackville, NB and then in Halifax, NS. He was a member of the Lions Club. A life long Mason, he was a member of the Mount Moriah Lodge No 15. Central Bedeque, PEI. as well as a long time member and past president of the Air Force Club (Amherst Branch). He volunteered with the Metro Food Bank in Halifax. His passions were gardening, camping, tinkering in his garage and basement and spending time with family members and friends at home and at the cottage on PEI.
    Dean will be sadly missed by his sons, Peter, Gary ( Judy) and David ( Debbie ) all of Amherst; grandsons, Chris (Stephanie), Paul (Brandi); great grandchildren, Derian, Zachery, Mickhail, Daniel.
    Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wives Catherine Howatt, Helen Murphy, daughters, Carol Terrio, her husband Danny Terrio & Nancy Bell.Dean's remains have been cremated under the care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777). A graveside service will be held in Cape Traverse July, 2010.
