    Guy Edgar Oulton
    1930-2009
    OULTON, Guy Edgar, born March 17, 1930; passed away peacefully in the home he was born in Baie Verte, NB, with his family by his side.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Wendy (Mountain); son, Shawn Oulton (Michelle Myers), Eastern Passage; Erin (Oulton) Allen (Jason Hamel), Amherst; six grandchildren, Jerrick, Jordan, Austin, Shelby, Olivia and Cash.

    He was predeceased by his father Edgar Oulton, mother Helen (Strang) Oulton, and brother Donald Oulton.

    Guy, “The Fonz”, will be sadly missed by many members of the community, and remembered for always being there to lend a helping hand.

    The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Colleen, and the rest of the nurses with Extra Mural, for their support and guidance as we helped Guy on his courageous journey home.

    Cremation has been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, NB.

    In respect of Guy’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial will be held on Monday, December 14, at the Tidnish Bridge Community Hall, from 6-8pm. We ask that family and friends join us to share stories and celebrate Guy’s life with us.

    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Guy’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

    He will be missed and forever loved.

    OULTON, EDGAR GUY - 79, passed away peacefully at home December 10, 2009. Born in Tidnish, March 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Edgar and Helen (Strang) Oulton. He will be sadly missed by his wife Wendy; son Shawn and daughter Erin and their families. He was predeceased by his brother Donald in 1994. There will be a time of fellowship at the Tidnish Community Hall, NS, Monday, December 14, 2009 from 6-8. Donations to a living memorial would be appreciated by the family.

    Helen Oulton BAIE VERTE, NB - The death of Helen Oulton, age 91, widow of Edgar Oulton, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 13, 2002. Born in Tidnish, NB, she was the daughter of the late Morey and Lily (Brundage) Strang. Helen will be sadly missed by her son Guy (Wendy) of Tidnish, NS; a brother, Roy Strang, of Baie Verte, NB; five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar in 1948; and a son Donald in 1994; brothers and sisters, Aubrey, Beulah and Ruthie. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main Street, Port Elgin with visitation Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 11 AM, Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Burial in the Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish, NS. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca

    The funeral of the late Charles Edward Oulton, who passed away at Tidnish, was held Sunday afternoon from the Lorneville United Church.  Rev. A. Moore of Baie Verte had charge of the service assisted by Rev. J. Douglas of Northport.  The hymns sung by the Lorneville choir were "The Old Rugged Cross", by special request:  "Lead Kindly Light" and "In the Garden".  Mrs. Charles Stewart was organist.  There were many floral tributes.  Interment was made in the Lorneville cemetery.  The pallbearers were five grandsons and a nephew, Ross and Russell Beaton, Guy and Donald Oulton, Darrell Oulton and Carmen Chapman.  The late Mr. Oulton is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alex Beaton of Lorneville and Mrs. Blair Chappell of Truemanville, and two sons, Manford of Amherst and Edgar of Tidnish with whom he resided; one sister, Mrs. Burton Cloney of Edmonton, Alta., and one brother, Ellsworth of Framingham, Mass., eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  His wife and one son predeceased him thirty-seven years ago.

    Following an illness of three weeks the death occurred at an early hour Monday morning at his home in Upper Tidnish, N.B., of Morey Draper Strang in his 72nd year. He was the eldest son of the late Emma and Frederick Strang and was a life long and respected resident of that community. The late Mr. Strang is survived by his wife, the former Lily Alberta Brundage, two daughters, Helen (Mrs. Edgar Oulton), Beulah (Mrs. Osborne Chapman), two sons, Aubrey and Roy, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two daughters and two grandchildren predeceased him. The remains will rest at his late residence until Wednesday at 2 o'clock when prayers will be read for the family by Rev. Mr. Bacon, after which they will be taken to Community Hall, Tidnish Bridge, where funeral services will be held at 2.30 with interment in Riverside cemetery.

    PORT ELGIN - The death of Mrs. Lilly Alberta STRANG, widow of Morley Strang, of Tidnish, N.B., occurred at her home Wednesday following a lengthy illness. She was born at Tidnish, Nov. 8, 1886, a daughter of the late James and Lilly (Wade) Brundage.
