    Obituary

Our wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, quietly took her last breath early in the morning of October 23, 2012, at her home in Murray, Utah, with her 2 children by her side, at the amazing age of 95. She was active until the day of her passing. She was born May 21, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Washington Mullin and Fannie "Winifred" Drury, the youngest of three children, including George Drury Mullin (1905-1987) and Glen Thomas Mullin (1906-1961) (Annabelle).
She graduated from the University of Utah in 1936 with a Teaching Certificate and had a long career as an elementary school teacher in Tooele, Utah. She was married on her birthday, May 21, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple to Ralph William Millburn, who became an attorney and district court judge in Tooele.
In their early years of marriage, civilian service at Lockheed Aircraft, during World War II, took them to Long Beach, California. Their family grew to include children, Ronald Ralph Millburn and Gayle Lynne Millburn.
For years Ralph and Mildred maintained a second home in St. George, where they weathered out the winter months. Together they nurtured two children through to a college education and temple marriages, and then they began to travel the world.
Mildred was active in her BETA group which met monthly for many years.
She was a "no frills", practical person, and had a wonderful dry sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ralph W. Millburn on March 6, 2009. She is survived by an adoring family of two children; Ronald Ralph Millburn (Cathryn) and Gayle Lynne Wilsted; 12 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren (who always have felt warmly received by her), and 27 great grandchildren ranging in age from 2 weeks to 18 years. She was also preceded in death by a sister in-law, Annabelle Wellbaum Mullin, daughter in¬law, Harriett Parry Millburn, son in-law Harold George "Hank" Wilsted, and a niece, Patricia Ruth Mullin Carter. Due to the early passing of their parents, Mildred has long had a special relationship with her nieces and nephew, lovingly referred to as the "California cousins." They have been amazingly kind and supportive of her in her extended years, as though distance was not an issue. A very special thanks to Gayle, who moved in with Mom, making it possible for her to remain in her own home and independent to the very end.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the South Cottonwood Ward Chapel, 5605 South Vine St. (8th East), Murray, Utah. Friends may call on Friday, October 26 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
