    The death of Rodney L. Field, age 70, of Moncton, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, April 25, 2004.

    Born in Murray Corner, he was a son of the Late Lorne and Ida (Morrison) Field. Rod was a lifelong mechanic and a fisherman.

    Rod is survived by 2 sons, Kevin (Darla Alder) Wall, Port Elgin, and Terry (Lynn) Wall, Moncton; 2 step-sons, Wayne (Raymonde) Wall, Cap Pele, and Dale Wall, Bayfield; a step-daughter, Carol Lee (Owen) Wall, Coverdale; 3 sisters, Roberta (Eric) Fields, Murray Corner, Marilyn (Ron) Hutchison, Saint. John, and Valerie (Mike) Doucet, Cape Tormentine; a brother, William (Margaret) Field, Fredericton; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, he was predeceased by a daughter Marjorie, his wife Daphne (Walton) Wall, his mother Ida (Morrison) in 2004 and his father Lorne.

    The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main Street, Port Elgin (364-1300) with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 2 pm, Lic. Mary MacRae Belliveau officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin at a later date.

    The death of Ida Field, age 90, of Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin and formerly of Little Shemogue, occurred on Thursday, January 8, 2004 in Port Elgin.
    Born in Burnt Church, she was a daughter of the late William and Clara (Morrison) Morrison. Ida was the proprietor of Lorne's Lobster Hut which she operated with her husband and after his death for many years. She was a life member of the Murray Corner Women's Institute and a long time member of the Liberal Party (both federally and provincially)
    Ida will be sadly missed by 2 sons, Rodney, Moncton and William (Margaret), Fredericton, 3 daughters, Roberta (Eric) Fields, Little Shemogue, Marilyn (Ronald) Hutchinson, Rothesay and Valerie (Dennis) Doucett, Cape Tormentine, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne in 1980, 2 grandchildren, Marjorie and Michael, a sister, Agnes and brothers, Archie, Walter and Jack.
    The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visitation Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 2 pm, Ms. Mary MacRae-Belliveau officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the First United Church, Murray Corner, the Westford Nursing Home or a charity of the donor's choice gratefully accepted.
