    The death of Rodney Copp, age 54 of Sylvan Lake AB, occurred as the result of an ATV accident on Wednesday, June 9, 2004.

    Born in Sackville he was a son of Aubrey and Bette (Clark) Copp. Rodney was a heavy equipment operator for many years, moving to Alberta in 1980 where he worked at Rainbow Lake, then started his own business 'Copp Pile Driving' in Sylvan Lake, retiring in 2004. He was a member of Westmorland Masonic Lodge # 44 F & AM, Port Elgin.

    Rodney will be sadly missed by his wife, Norma (Scott), Sylvan Lake; 2 daughters, Paula (Andy) Attfield, Sylvan Lake and Kimberley (Lance Harris), Edmonton, AB; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Travis, Dakota, Sydney -Jean and Riley; his parents,Aubrey and Bette Copp, Baie Verte, 2 sisters, Linda Copp, Moncton and Sheryl (Bob) Cowcill, Waverley, NS and mother-in-law, Bertha Scott, Port Elgin. He was predeceased by an infant brother.

    The remains have been forwarded for cremation. Visitation will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300), Thursday, June 17 from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home on Friday, June 18, 2004 at 11 am. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin. A time of fellowship will follow the memorial service, all are invited. Westmorland Masonic Lodge will hold a memorial service, Thursday June 17 at 7:30 pm. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca

    COPP, Aubrey Davidson - 85, of Amherst, formerly of Baie Verte, passed away peacefully in Gables Lodge, Amherst on Sunday, August 16, 2009. Born in Baie Verte, he was a son of the late Blair and Jean (Davidson) Copp. Aubrey farmed until age 33, then was employed by the Atmospheric Environment Services at Goose Bay, Labrador; Cape Dyer, N.W.T; Halfax International Airport and Bedford, weather offices, retiring to Baie Verte, N.B. in 1983. He was a member of the United Church, many years as the treasurer at Elmsdale United Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping. He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Clark) Copp, Amherst; his children, Linda Copp, Moncton; Sheryl Cowcill (Robert), Amherst; daughter-in-law, Norma Copp, Red Deer, Alta.; grandchildren, Tammy Ellingwood, Lisa Ellingwood, Lindsay Arsenault, Paula Attfield, Kimberley Copp, Laura Cowcill, Christopher Cowcill; great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Janelle, Travis, Robyn, Sydney Jean, Emelie, Riley, Zachary, Damian, Dakota and Abigail; brother, Donald (Conchita), Moncton; sisters, Doris Clark (Howard), Peterborough, Ont.; and brother-in-law, Hugh Wood, Baie Verte.     Bertha Scott 1920-2016
    It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Bertha Annie Scott
    , age 95, of Port Elgin, NB.  Bertha passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 24, 2016 with her family at her bedside.
    Born in Midgic, NB, she was a a daughter of the late Russell and Alice (Cook) George.
    She worked for many years at the Post Office.  A very active volunteer in the community of Port Elgin, she was essential in the development of Westford Nursing Home where she continued to volunteer and often would be found playing the piano.  She was active in the St. James Presbyterian Church, a prominent member of the Eastern Star, and many other local organizations.
    She will be dearly missed by her children Russell (Josephine), Nappan, NS, Norman (Vicki Copp), Amherst, NS; Norma Copp, Red Deer, AB and Gary (Darla), Port Elgin, NB; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews
    She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1976, her son Tommy; brother Art and sister Marie Goodwin.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, (506-538-2241).  Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life for Bertha Scott will be held on Saturday, January 30 in the basement of the Baie Verte Hall from 1 pm until 4 pm.  Burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery, Sackville in the spring.
    Bertha's family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to her neighbor Charlene; caregivers Paula and Trish, and the Extra Mural.
    Those wishing to make a donation in Bertha's memory may do so to the Westford Nursing Home, the Royal Canadian Legion, or the Extra Mural Foundation.
