COPP, VICTOR - 1933-2009 - Victor Copp of Oxbow passed away after a lengthy illness at the Tobique Valley Manor on September 13th, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Born in Northview, NB, on April 8th, 1933, he was the son of the late Randolph and Clara (Gough) Copp. Victor leaves behind his wife of 54 years Nan (Goodine) Copp; daughters, Judy (Ray) Brewer of Perth-Andover, Denise (Jerry Parish) Copp of Yoho Lake, NB; son, Andy Copp of Plaster Rock; grandchildren, Johnathan Brewer of Halifax, NS, Katherine Brewer of Halifax, NS, Sarah Copp of Haley Brook, NB and sisters, Marva Russell of Haliburtin, ON, Carol Henderson of Mississauga, ON. Victor was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Stanley and Everald; sisters, Jean, Marion, Kathleen and Edith; and his son-in-law, Marty DesRoches. Victor was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #29, and an Elks Club member. He lived all his life on the Tobique moving to Oxbow and could not imagine living anywhere else. He loved hunting and fishing and spent many years entertaining sports and friends at his camp on the Tobique. Talking and spinning yarns to make people laugh was a favorite pastime. Victor worked on the log drive, was a woodsman, oil furnace installer, guide, outfitter and he and his wife owned a country store in Oxbow from 1968-1982. He loved spending time with his family and friends. In accordance with Victor's wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at 2 pm from the Burntland Brook Cemetery with Rev. Keith Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick or to the Tobique Valley Manor would be appreciated by the family. Obituary

COPP, NAN - Nan Copp of Oxbow passed away at the Grand Falls General Hospital on February 21, 2013. Nan was born in Weaver, NB on December 5, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Muriel (McAskill) Goodine. She leaves behind her children Judy Brewer (Ray) of River de Chute, NB and Judy's children Jonathan Brewer and Katherine Brewer, Denise Copp of Yoho, NB, Andy Copp of Plaster Rock and his daughter Sarah Copp; her sister Dorothy Albert; brothers James, Basil, and Dayle Goodine. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Victor Copp; her sister Florence Buchanan; brothers Donald, Winnfred, David, and Archie Goodine. Nan and her husband Victor ran a store for many years in Oxbow. While working at the store, she studied to receive her GED. Later after receiving her GED, Nan attended the Woodstock Community College and studied nursing. She gradated in 1982 as her class Valedictorian and went on to work at the Tobique Valley Manor. Nan was a lifelong member of the Sisson Brook Women's Institute and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 29. She loved quilting, knitting, sewing, crocheting, bingo, and her pets. Most of all she loved her children and spending time with them.
Respecting Nan's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held later in the spring. Interment will be in Burntland Brook Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the NB Arthritis Society, NB Alzheimer’s Society or Tobique Valley Manor would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
