    SIDDALL, Elmer Borden "Grampie" - 86, Porter's Lane, Westville, formerly of Southampton, Cumberland Co., died May 24, 2000, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Southampton, he was a son of the late Calvin and Bertha (Trowsdale) Siddall. He served overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders during Second World War. Following the war, he worked for the C.N.R. (Springhill-Parrsboro Line) and retired from Hoegg's Sawmill, Athol. He was an adherent of Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17, Springhill. He enjoyed collecting Antiques. Surviving are his sons, Dave, Foxbrook; Weldon, Richabecto, N.B.; Blaine, St. John, N.B.; sisters, Odie Rogers, Ontario; Edna Trenholm, Southampton; Darlene Thompson, Mapleton; Elsie Fisher, Bible Hill; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister, Annie; brother, Frank. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday in Christian Fellowship Church, Rev. Bruce Morrison and Rev. Helen Christie officiating. Graveside service 3:30 p.m. in Southampton Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion service 6:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Donations to Christian Fellowship Church Building Fund.

    SOUTHAMPTON, Cumberland County - Mrs. Calvin Siddall, 89, of Southampton died Wednesday in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.Born in Springhill, she was the former Bertha Florence Trowsdale, a daughter of the late Elijah and Hannah Trowsdale.She was a member of the United Church of Canada.Surviving are two sons, Frank and Elmer, both of Southampton; four daughters, Elsie (Mrs. Bert Fisher), Truro; Edna (Mrs. Ralph Trenholm), Southampton; Leota (Mrs. Frank Rogers), Ottawa, and Darlene (Mrs. Garnet Thompson), Mapleton, Cumberland County; two sisters, Effie (Mrs. Charles Bradley), Sidney, and Myrtle (Mrs. Hedley Dow), Cardiff, Ont.; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter Annie, a brother Willard, five sisters, Lila, Vida, Mary Ellen, Mabel and Ethel, and a great grandson.The body is in A. H. Brown's Funeral Home, Springhill, where the funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m., Pastor John Pringle officiating, with committal in Springhill receiving vault and burial in Southampton cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity.
