    Alden Phinney 1927-2014
    It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Alden Phinney, age 86, of Frosty Hollow, formerly of Bayfield.  Alden passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Westford Nursing Home, where he has resided the last few years.
    Born in Midgic, he was a son of the late Richard and Mildred (Hicks) Phinney.
    Alden worked as a fisherman and construction worker throughout his life.  He was a member of the St. Ann's Anglican Church, Westcock.
    Alden will be sadly missed by 2 daughters, Carolyn Boutilier (Jack Rae) and Rocksey (Myles) Dean, both of Bayfield, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Alvin, Sackville and Richard Jr., Frosty Hollow, several nieces and nephews.  
    He was predeceased by 2 wives, Ina (Allen) and Kathleen (Banks); sister Millicent Barnes.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home.   Visitation will take place at the Jones Funeral Centre in Port Elgin, 3 West Main St. (538-2241) where visiting hours will take place on Friday from 1 pm until 3 pm.  The funeral will follow immediately at 3 pm, William Drysdale, DLM, officiating.  Burial will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery in the spring.
    Those wishing to make a donation in Alden's memory, may do so to the Bayfield Cemetery, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
