Ronald "Ron" Fury 1939-2013
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Ronald "Ron" Fury, age 73, of Amherst.  Ron passed away surrounded by his loving family in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Gables Lodge.
Born in Point de Bute, NB, he was a son of the late Winston and Alice (Tingley) Fury.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Ron worked at Moloney Electric, but was known best for his part time work at the Aulac Esso for over 30 years.  He loved meeting and serving the people that passed through each day.  He had a warming personality and was known for always having a bright smile and a kind word.  He was truly loved by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed by children, Sherry (Darren) Bickerton, Amherst, Sandra Trenholm, Amherst, Cathy (Peter) Smith, Amherst, Wanda Fury (Dave Pinto), Edmonton, AB, Kevin (Claudette), Edmonton, AB, Dwayne (Julie Bedard), Dieppe, NB; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers; George (Donna), Moncton,  Winston (Marion), Mount Whatley, Donald, Mount Whatley, Brian (Sandra), Dieppe, Kenneth (Sunday), Point De Bute; sisters, Doris Jones, Port Perry, ON, Vera (Mark) Strathearn, Amherst, Heather Robichaud, Amherst, Susan (Duane) Pauley, Westcock; brothers-in-law; Robert Acton, Terry Bird, Wendell Stiles and Donald Coates; sister-in-law Linda Fury; several nieces, nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Florence Gouthreau; son Stephen; brothers, Keith, David; sisters  Alma Acton, Marilyn Stiles, Kimberly Bird, Gail Coates; brother-in-law Richard Jones.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  Funeral services will be held at the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2 pm, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.  Burial will take place in the Point De Bute Cemetery in the spring.

Alice Fury SACKVILLE, NB - After a lengthy struggle with Cancer, Alice Fury, age 87, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Sackville, she was a daughter of the late Irvine and Alma (Hicks) Tingley. Alice was a member of the Upper Point De Bute Church for many years until its closure, and since has belonged to the Main Street Baptist Church and the Midgic Baptist Church. After graduating from Sackville High School she started her family, which was her lifetime's greatest love. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge, and kept busy with many activities within the community, and her door was always open to anyone who ever needed her. Alice will be deeply missed by her 8 sons, Ronald, Amherst, George (Donna), Moncton, Winston (Marion), Mount Whatley, Keith (Linda), Little Shemogue, David, Aulac, Donald, Mount Whatley, Brian (Sandra), Dieppe, Kenneth (Sunday) of Point De Bute; 6 daughters, Doris (Richard) Jones, Port Perry, ON, Gail (Donald) Coates, Fenwick, NS, Vera (Mark) Strathearn, Amherst, Heather Robichaud, Amherst, Kimberly (Terry) Bird, Aulac, Susan (Duane) Pauley, Westcock; sons-in-laws, Robert Acton and Wendell Stiles; sisters-in-law, Ruth Tingley and Doris Fury; also survived by 45 Grandchildren and 66 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
