    Roberta Ida Fields 1943 - 2008 Roberta Ida Fields, 65, wife of Eric Fields of Little Shemogue passed away on Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville following a lengthy illness. Born May 13, 1943 in Little Shemogue, she was the daughter of the late Lorne Field and the late Ida Morrison. She leaves to mourn her husband of 45 years Eric Fields; three daughers, Sandra Stright of Murray Corner, Christina Fields (Rick MacDonald) of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Tracy Matthews (Tony) of Moncton; one step-son, Tim Field (Bernice) of Cap Pelé; two sisters, Marilyn Hutchinson (Ron) of Quispamsis, Valerie Doucett (Mike) of Cape Tormentine; one brother, Bill Field (Margaret) of Fredericton; six grandchildren, Nicolas, Sabrina, Calvin, Colby, Michael, Sophie; two great grandchildren, Caleb and Isabel; and by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Michael (1965) and by a brother, Rodney Field. She was the past owner and operator of Colonial Take Out in Murray Corner, and a correspondent for the Sackville Tribune for several years. She inspired many people throughout her 26 year battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held at Murray Corner First United Church, Murray Corner on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2pm. with Rev. William Drysdale officiating. Interment will be held in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin followed by a reception. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital or Murray Corner First United Church.     The death of Ida Field, age 90, of Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin and formerly of Little Shemogue, occurred on Thursday, January 8, 2004 in Port Elgin.
    Born in Burnt Church, she was a daughter of the late William and Clara (Morrison) Morrison. Ida was the proprietor of Lorne's Lobster Hut which she operated with her husband and after his death for many years. She was a life member of the Murray Corner Women's Institute and a long time member of the Liberal Party (both federally and provincially)
    Ida will be sadly missed by 2 sons, Rodney, Moncton and William (Margaret), Fredericton, 3 daughters, Roberta (Eric) Fields, Little Shemogue, Marilyn (Ronald) Hutchinson, Rothesay and Valerie (Dennis) Doucett, Cape Tormentine, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne in 1980, 2 grandchildren, Marjorie and Michael, a sister, Agnes and brothers, Archie, Walter and Jack.
    The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visitation Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 2 pm, Ms. Mary MacRae-Belliveau officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the First United Church, Murray Corner, the Westford Nursing Home or a charity of the donor's choice gratefully accepted.
