    CAMERON, Jennie I. - 85, Amherst, passed away April 26, 1998, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Cape Spear, she was a daughter of the late Enzor and Alice (Strang) Oulton. She was a graduate of Mount Allison Ladies College in 1931. She was a member of Meriam Rebekah Lodge; Trinity St. Stephen's United Church and UCW; Chignecto Presbytery; Maritime Conference; Liberal Party; Cumberland ITC, and former member of Amherst Golf Club. She was past president of Maritime Assembly of the Rebekah Lodge, Ladies Curling Club and Cumberland ITC. She was a life member of Nova Scotia Home and School Association and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a divisional commissioner for Girl Guides of Canada, Cumberland Co.; an active leader in youth groups and town councillor from 1963-1968. She received the prestigious Mayflower Award. She is survived by daughter, Joan Cameron and husband Stan Davis, Amherst; son, Stuart and wife Margaret, Halifax; brothers, Austin Oulton, Bayfield, N.B.; Blake Oulton, Bathhurst, N.B.; sister, Edna Agnew, St. Sauveur des Monts; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex M.; brother, Olen; sisters, Edythe, Charlotte. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Rebekah Lodge service 7 p.m., Eastern Star service 7:30 p.m., all Tuesday, April 28, in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, in Trinity St. Stephen's United Church, Rev. Allan Griffin officiating. There will be a private graveside service in Amherst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity St. Stephen's United Church "Above and Beyond Campaign" or the charity of your choice.
