    SMITH-TAYLOR, Elizabeth Eva Minerva R.N. - 92, Fort Lawrence died August 6, 2002, at home. She was a daughter of the late Edgar and Carrie (Oulton) Smith. She was a Lieutenant with the Nursing Sisters of the Canadian Armed Forces serving in Newfoundland and Sussex, N.B. Surviving are ephew, Ronald Best, Newport Corner. She was predeceased by daughter, Sharon Anne; sister, Viola Best. Her remains are resting in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst, with visiting 2-4 p.m. today only, where a Legion service will be 3 p.m. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, Rev. Donald Miller officiating. Burial in Amherst Cemetery. Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.

    OBIT - Mrs. Edgar H. SMITH
    Amherst, May 7
    A well known resident of Fort Lawrence, Mrs. Edgar H. SMITH, passed away Sunday afternoon following admittance to Highland View Hospital. The deceased had been in poor health for a considerable length of time and had been seriously ill for the past six weeks. The late Mrs. SMITH was 68 years of age. She was the former Carrie Victoria, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jacob OULTON of Jolicure. Mrs. SMITH took an active interest in the work of the I.O.G.T., and was a Grand Lodge Officer in this Order, as well as being a Past District Officer. She was also a member of the L.T.B.A., in which Order she had held important offices. She was a member of the former Methodist and later the United Church at Jolicure, and in recent years was an adherent of First Baptist Church, Amherst. Besides her husband, the late Mrs. SMITH is survived by one daughter, Eva (Mrs. Denzil TAYLOR) at home; two grandchildren, Ronald BEST, in the Canadian Army, stationed at Yarmouth and Sharon Ann TAYLOR, Fort Lawrence; and one sister, Cynthia (Mrs. Charles OULTON) Point de Bute. One daughter, Mrs. Bruce BEST, Kentville, predeceased her a year and a half ago; also two brothers, Wesley and Gaius OULTON, Jolicure, also predeceased her. The funeral will be held from the home in Fort Lawrence, Wednesday at 2 pm.
