    David E. Richard
    1946-2018
    David E. Richard, 71 years of age, of Amherst, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 8, 2018. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Aurele & Ellen (White) Richard.
    He worked as a diesel mechanic for the Town of Amherst for over 25 years. He was a volunteer with the Amherst RCAF and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion # 10. He enjoyed the hootenanny's at the legion and was always up for a good dance. He enjoyed having a drink with his friends at the Elm Tree.
    David will be sadly missed by his children, Eric (Nadine) of Amherst, Tera Mitchell (Chris) of Amherst, Sean Spicer (Heidi) of Woodpoint, NB, Daniel Spicer of Charlottetown, PEI, Angela Spicer of Amherst; grandchildren, Seth, Cario, Aurelia, Colin, Austin, Jasmine; sisters, Diane Gauthier, Barbara MacLeod, Connie LeBlanc, Patsy Robins; brothers, Billy Richard, Bobbie Richard, Teddy Richard; extended family, several nieces and nephews.
    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his 1st wife, Joann, 2nd wife, Peggy, sister, Marilyn Trepanier.
    Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of  Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where the family will receive visitors on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at  2 p.m. Burial to take place in the St. Charles- Nativity Cemetery in the spring.
    Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of choice.
