On the 1851 census, she is living with her father and her younger sister. On this census, she is erroneously said to be the wife of Laurent. Her mother, Magdeleine or Madeleine died in 1845 shortly after her sister Bibiane was born. See the 1861 census where she and her sister are teenagers and are living with their widower father and paternal grandparents. Also, marriages for both girls indicate their parents were Laurent Comeau and Madeleine Bourgeois.
