    The death of Arthur Reid, age 89, of Sackville, formerly of Dorchester, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 16, 2006.

    Born in Brooklyn, NB, he was a son of the late Frank and Celesta (Trenholm) Reid.

    A veteran of WW II, he served in the Carlton York Regiment of the Canadian Army in England and continental Europe. He was made a life member of the Dorchester Legion and then a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Arthur was a member of the Sussex Masonic Lodge # 4 F & AM. A former employee with Corrections Canada with 27 years of service.

    Arthur will be sadly miss by his wife the former Catherine Carson, Sackville, and 2 daughters, Donna McGregor, Red Deer, AB and Sharon Reid, Moncton; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan and Cory; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret (Doug) Hamilton, Mildred (Robert) Blair and Mary (Roger) Goodwin; a brother, Brenton (Faye) Reid, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene and brothers, Reuben, Harvey and Vaughn.

    The remains have been entrusted to the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 2:30 pm, burial in the Baie Verte Cemetery. Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday at 8 pm. Sussex Masonic Lodge # 4 will hold their memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm.

    M. Catherine "Kay" Reid 1925-2015
    With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of M. Catherine "Kay" Reid, of Moncton and formerly of Sackville, Dorchester, and Baie Verte.  Kay died at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the age of 89.  Born in Baie Verte, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mary (Hunter) Carson.
    Kay had been a member of the Dorchester United Church as well as a Life Member of Ladies Auxilliary of The Royal Canadian Legion.
    She is survived by her daughters, Donna McGregor of Alberta, and Sharon Reid of Moncton; her grandchildren: Jennifer, Jonathan & Cory McGregor and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Phyllis) Carson, Sackville, Cecil (Mildred) Carson, Oshawa, ON, and several nieces and nephews.
    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Arthur Reid as well as a sister, Evelyn Lane.
    Arrangements for Kay are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 pm with the Rev. Catherine Smith presiding.  Interment will be held in the spring at the Baie Verte Cemetery.
    In memory of Kay, donations may be made to The Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of choice.
