    Patrick LeBlanc
    1925-2013

    Patrick LeBlanc, 87, husband of Eva LeBlanc of Saint-André, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 18th, 2013 at the Veterans Health Center in Moncton. Born in Cap-Pelé on September 19th, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dométhilde (Cormier) LeBlanc.
    He was a veteran of the 2nd World War having served with the Royal Canadian Army and he was a former member of the Cap-Pelé Royal Canadian Legion.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eva LeBlanc; one son, Gerald LeBlanc (Sonia Gautreau) of Cap-Pelé; two brothers: Aimée LeBlanc of Mount Forest, ON and Mathias LeBlanc (Marie-Mai) of Cap-Pelé; one granddaughter, Isabelle Mazerolle (Daniel); two great-grandchildren: Sebastien and Gabrielle; many nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by five sisters: Marie Blanche, Yvonne, Malthide, Sara and infant,Florida; seven brothers: Didas, Arthur, Dismas, Dosithée, Edgar, Ligouri and Tilmon.
    The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642, Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours Wednesday, February 20th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, and Thursday, February 21st from 9:30 am until departure for Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
    A very special Thank You to the staff of the Veterans Centre for all their hard work, kindness, and dedication in caring for Patrick while in their care; especially over the past few months.  Also Thank You to Dr. Auffrey for the attention he gave while caring for Patrick.
    In memory of Patrick, a donation to the Veterans Health Center in Moncton or to the Ste-Thérèse d’Avila parish cemetery would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Frenette Funeral Home, Shediac.

    Family stories heard from various relatives have said that Damien LeBlanc used to go to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and to various parts of New Brunswick on contracts to cut lumber. He would take a group of men with him and was boss of the lumber camp.

    His grandson, Damien s/o Peter maintains his grave and stone and showed me (A Owen) where his grave was located in the Haute Aboujagane Cemetery in the summer of 1999. It confirmed that I had found the correct grave in 1974.
