    Annie Smith
    Passed on: December 23rd, 2008
    SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – The death of Annie I. Smith,92, of Scarborough occurred at the Leisure World Nursing Home in Scarborough on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008. Born in Joggins, she was a daughter of the late Julian and Laura (Burbine) Comeau. Annie was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Joggins Branch. Annie will be sadly missed by daughters Eleanor (Peter) Wesley, Saint John, N.B., Nellie, (Melvin) Holden, Toronto, Sally Logue, Toronto, Sharon (Larry) Toupanzenie, Montreal, Dorothy Kenney, Toronto, Marilyn (Jim) Kyle, Saint John, N.B., and Susan Squires, Toronto; sons Kenneth, River Hebert, Gerald (Myrna), Toronto and Robert (Pat), Moncton; many grandchildren, great- and great-greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Smith in 1979, and by a son Doug. Annie’s remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst(667-8777). Her remains will be transferred to Amherst to await a graveside service in the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Cemetery, Ragged Reef, in the spring. www.furlongjones.ca
